Kona

is "KONA." Kona means leeward (da side dat NO face da wind). Every Hawaiian Island has a leeward side. All of them are sunny, dry and have pristine beaches. Tourists and Locals love Kona because: not as boring as Hilo; Not Crowded as Waikiki; not as dangerous as Nanakuli; and (even with a Mormon Temple) the people are still down to earth and friendly. Fact: Kamehameha the Great is from Kona.
