obake

is "obake." Japanese word introduced to Hawaii that now means ghosts. Locals are either spiritual, superstitious, the supernatural, or kooky like the Adam's Family. Locals think fireballs are real, whistling at night summons Night-Marchers, Pele appears as an old woman and ghosts choke us in our sleep. Real/Fictitious? Hawaii has limitless "Obake Files" unlike anywhere in the world. Keep your ti leaf handy.
