#15 Health Profile - Most at Risk

Hawaiians have the poorest health profile of all minority groups, according to the Office of Minority Health. In every category ranging from Hypertension to Obesity, Hawaiians were the highest in all but one (the less likely to have heart disease category). This means Native Hawaiians are at risk for all manners of poor health, if they don't take care of themselves. Too much fast food, too little exercise, too much t.v. watching, too little weight watching, too much stress, too little stress relief, too much sugars and fats, too little veggies and water. Ironically, a hundred years ago Hawaiians were on the opposite side of the spectrum. They were lean and muscular; athletic and agile; quick and resilient. But why now are Hawaiians leading the world in cases of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, obesity and cancer of all sorts? Hawaiians must find a way to stay....
