hukilau
is "Hukilau." means "pull the leaf." A beach on the Northeast side of Oahu, named after the Hawaiian method of fishing done in Laie Bay. Crews would swim/oar nets out to sea and people on shore pulled the nets in. Also known to the old folks as Hamana Beach (after the Laie fisherman, Hamana Kalili: the 2 fingered man who invented the Shaka).
