Kaimuki
is "Kaimuki." Ka-imu-ki means the ti leaf oven. Hawaiians baked the roots of ti leaf and ate it as a dessert. Historically, Kaimuki was the first suburban district in Honolulu. Although it's broken into smaller known communities/areas (Kapahulu, Moiliili, St. Louis Hts, Palolo), the diversity from it's plantation days stay strong. From Kaimuki: Plenny places for eat.
